George "Eddie" Edward Griffis

Mr. George Edward “Eddie” Griffis, 64, passed away Thursday, Mar. 10, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Mr. Griffis was born April 5, 1951, in Homerville, GA to the late William Franklin Griffis and Melva Viru Delk Griffis. He was the retired owner of Griffis & Sons Garage. He was preceded in death by one son: Jamie “Lard” Griffis and two brothers: Billy Franklin Griffis and Ted Wayne Griffis. Survivors are his wife: Brenda Day Griffis, Homerville; one son and daughter-in-law: George & Candy Griffis, Kirkland, GA; five brothers & sisters-in-law: Bobby Merel & Gloria Griffis, Townsend, MA, Tiny & Jamie Griffis and Stanley & Loretta Griffis, all of Homerville, Ray & Jackie Conner and Donnie & Gloria Conner, all of Sylvania, GA; one sister & brother-in-law: Evelyn Viru & Donnie Carter, Alma, GA; four grandchildren: Marla G. Riley, Kaitlyn Griffis, Abby Griffis and Jamie Griffis; nine great grandchildren, a number of nieces & nephews and other relatives. Graveside memorial services for Mr. Griffis will be held Sunday, March 13, 2016, at two o’clock in the Pine Forest Cemetery. Memorialization will be by cremation.
