Clyde Ellis Burton

On the morning of November 2, 2015, Clyde (Sandy) Ellis Burton took his flight to eternal rest. Born on October 12, 1956, in Homerville, GA. Clyde received his education in the Clinch County School System and obtained his High School Diploma in 1975. While in High School, Clyde was a member in the band where he was the drummer, he loved to read and was in the reading club along with some of his friends. Clyde joined the military after graduating from High School and received an Honorable Discharge. In 2012 he attended OTC Waycross Georgia to obtain his CDL. Clyde accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, he would tell you that he was not perfect, but he knew there is a God, he always professed he was saved and he would not let anybody tell him any different. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church for a few years, later he joined Greater Morning Star Baptist Church in Homerville, GA. Clyde always read his “Word” each morning before he started his day, he believed in giving God a praise of thanks, one thing for sure he knew “The Word”. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Father: Rev. Thomas Burton and Mother: Mrs. Carrie Law Burton. Clyde’s memories will be cherished by his three children: two daughters: Mrs. Rosalin (Larry) Mincey, Miss Angelique York, one son: Mr. Clyde Brinson; two step-daughters: Laiken M. Williams and Bridgett S. Bobbitt; Siblings: two sisters: Mrs. Christine Mango and Mrs. Annie Lou Allen; five brothers: Tommy Lee (Mary) Burton, Richard (Beverly) Burton, Herman (Jeannette) White, Sr., Larry Burton, Leroy (Grace) Burton and John Henry Burton. Six grandchildren, four step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of sorrowing friends. One adopted daughter: Brooke Grady and a very good friend, Crawford Jones. Funeral services for Mr. Burton will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at three o’clock in the Greater Morning Star Baptist Church. Memorilization will be by cremation. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
