Findley, Sr., her father Rudolph Register, mother Mae Inman Register and sister Margaret Register. She is survived by her children Fannie Mae Loyd of Chattanooga, TN; William J. Findley, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Cordele, GA; Athena Rogers of Hammondsport, NY along with her husband Steffen; Janette Findley of Tampa, FL, Katherine Baker of Atlanta, GA and her husband Bruce and Alice Findley of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Pilar Magee, Christy Dodd, Heather Ross, Brian Jarriel, Amy Greenway, Michael Findley, Misty Bennett, Tara Findley, and Emily and Anna Baker. Eleven great grand children also survive her. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren reside all across the United States. Atheline’s three brothers Harris Register, Billy Register and Candler Register with wife Lorean all reside in Homerville, GA. Many nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Findley. Atheline was a very gifted seamstress, crafting and making clothes for children and taking in alterations for the residents of the Lyons area. She served many years as an American Red Cross armed forces caseworker where she ensured delivery of emergency communications to military families. Education was a great passion of Atheline’s. She worked as a volunteer for Vacation Bible School at the Lyons First Baptist Church for several years, but always longed to be a full time teacher. She was able to realize that dream when she became a teacher’s aid at Lyons Elementary School. She held that position for 25 years, retiring at age 75. Atheline instilled this same passion for education in her six children seeing that each one had the opportunity to earn a college degree and to go on to a successful career. Each invested time in teaching with some dedicating their entire careers to the field of education. Atheline will be interred next to her husband at the Pine Forest Cemetery in Homerville, GA, following a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015. The family extends its gratitude to Crisp County Regional Home and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice for their continued support of the family and caring for our mother in her final days.
