Homerville, GA Mr. Carey Suggs, 88, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015, in the Satilla Hospice House, Waycross, GA, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Mr. Suggs was born March 20, 1927, in Waycross, Ga to the late John Wesley Suggs and Maggie Mercer Suggs. He served in the U. S. Army as a medical aid man and was employed as a sawmill operator. Mr. Suggs was preceded in death by one son: Carey Allen Suggs; two sisters: Mina Lee Hursey and Myrtie Jordan; four brothers, Enoch Suggs, Wilburn Suggs, Leroy Suggs and Milton Suggs. Survivors are his wife, Louise Beecher Suggs, Homerville, GA; one son and daughter-in-law: Kevis & Kay Suggs, Homerville, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law: Betty & Dewight Hall, Cameron, NC and Audrey “Nicki” & Everett Willis, Homerville, GA; six granddaughters: Kerri Ann & Brandon Wilson, Elizabeth Hope Willis, Autumn Grace Willis, all of Homerville, Mya Hall and Brainna Hall, Cameron, NC and Wendy Bartley, Adel, GA; three great grandchildren: Johannah Faith Willis, Ashley Bartley. Joshua Brock, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Suggs will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at eleven o’clock in the Lighthouse Assembly of God. Interment will be in the New Prospect Church Cemetery, Manor, GA. The family will receive friends Monday July 20, 2015, from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Suggs will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to the Satilla Hospice House, 811 Beacon Street, Waycross, GA, 31501. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
