Samuel Clayton Mitchell

Homerville, GA Mr. Samuel Clayton Mitchell, 81, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Mitchell was born May 8, 1927, in Live Oak, FL, to the late Clarence Mitchell & Mamie Waldron Mitchell. He was a heavy equipment operator for a construction company, and a member of the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Mitchell is preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Elizabeth Mitchell. Survivors are three sons & daughters-in-law: Sam & Connie Mitchell, of Portland, Michigan, Darrell & Barbara Mitchell, of Owosso, Michigan, and Thomas & Georgia Mitchell, of Homerville; and several other relatives. Services for Mr. Mitchell will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009, at two o’clock from the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church. Internment will be in the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, January 9, 2009, from the Roundtree Funeral Home, from 6 til 8 pm. Roundtree Funeral Home is serving the Mitchell Family.
