Benjamin Gerald Deloach

Homerville, GA Mr. Benjamin Gerald Deloach, 77, passed away Monday, Apr. 20, 2015 in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, GA, following an extended illness. Mr. Deloach was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Clarence Mack Deloach, Sr. and Mildred Louise Willis Deloach. He was a retired fire fighter for the Savannah Fire Department working from Feb. 1969 till July 1995 and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Fireman's Association. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence Mack Deloach, Jr. and Edward Dexter Deloach. Survivors are two daughters: Sherry Bartley, Queen Creek, AZ and Tracy Heaps, Phoenix, AZ; one son: Michael Deloach, Panama City, FL; one sister: Barbara Christopher, Homerville; one brother: Doyal Keith Deloach, Valdosta; four grandchildren: Brendan Bartley, Xander Bartley, Caleb Bartley and Tanner Bartley; one niece: Sherry & Brandon Blankenship; one nephew: Tye Smith; two great nieces: Mandy Curtis & Krysta Smith; two great nephews: Jeremy Murray & Cody Blankenship and several other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Deloach will be held, Wednesday, Apr. 22, 2015 at two o’clock in the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Wayfare Church Cemetery, in Echols County. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, Apr. 21, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Deloach will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
