Doris Virginia McKinnon

Homerville, GA Mrs. Doris Virginia Lightsey McKinnon, 90, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, in the Langdale Hospice House, Valdosta, following an extended illness. Mrs. McKinnon was born June 5, 1924, in Nashville, GA, to the late L. C. Lightsey and Cordie Gaskins Lightsey. She was a member of the Nashville Baptist Church and had worked at Brockway Standard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis McKinnon. Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law: Sherry & Elvin Floyd, Homerville; one son and a daughter-in-law: Harmon & Christine Overby, Waycross; one brother: Doyle Lightsey, Valdosta; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. McKinnon will be held Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at two o’clock in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Gaskins Cemetery, Hahira, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
