Mr. Cecil Edward Fender, 82, passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 in the Appling Health Care System, Baxley, GA, following an extended illness. Mr. Fender was born Sept. 19, 1932 in Clinch County to the late Marvin Fender and Martha Janie Sirmans Fender. He had worked at the Eubanks Tire & Battery Center, Forest Park, GA, was a member of the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Dorris Pittman Fender and two brothers, Donald Fender and Ira Fender, Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law: Debra & Dennis Stephens, Vidalia, Lynn & Bruce Berry, Barceló’s, Brazil and Leatha & Dennis Martin, Luthersville, GA; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Nell Royals, Lakeland and Eloise & Don NeSmith, Brooklet, GA; two brothers and sisters-in-law: W. C. & Wenda Fender, Homerville and Ivey & Alverna Fender, Albany; one sister-in-law: Marjorie Fender, DuPont; six grandchildren: Gabriel Berry, Lauren Berry & Paul McDonald, Jared Berry, Justin Adam Martin, Matthew Stephens and Ryan Stephens; seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Fender will be held Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at eleven o’clock in the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Arabia Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Fender will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
