Gladys Virginia Shehane

Homerville, GA Mrs. Gladys Virginia Howell Shehane, 76, passed away, Thursday, July 10, 2014, at her residence, following an extended illness. Mrs. Shehane was born Dec. 11, 1937 in Homerville, GA to the late Willie R. Howell and Lila Cribbs Howell. She had worked for Mini Mart as a store manager and was a member of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Elliot Shehane and two brothers, Clyde Howell and Edwin Howell. Survivors are three daughters: JoAnn Corbett, Homerville, Mariea Griffis, Valdosta and Ila Jean Sirmans, Fargo; two sons: Alvin Corbett and Robert Corbett both of Homerville; two sister: Lydia Harper, Lakeland and Clara Taft, Nashville; three grandchildren: Amy & Robert Steedley, Clint Griffis and David Sirmans; one great grandson: Matthew Steedley and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Shehane will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at eleven o’clock in the Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel. Memorilization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 till 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Georgia Disabled American Veterans Association, 1700 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033, or The Saint Jude's Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Road, Memphis, TN,or your favorite charity.
