Stanley Art Lankford

Homerville, GA Mr. Stanley Art Lankford, 64, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following a brief illness. Mr. Lankford was born Aug, 13, 1949 in Homerville, GA, to Gladys Lee Lankford, Homerville and the late Roy Hamilton Lankford. He was a superintendent for Lee Engineering, a blueberry farmer and was a member of the Homerville First Baptist Church. He was past Worshipful Master Cassia Lodge 224, past President Homerville Exchange Club, past member of the Homerville Volunteer Fire Department, past Homerville City Council Member and police commissioner for City of Homerville. He was preceded in death by one sister: Margo L. Hendley. Survivors other than his mother, are his wife: Rose Johns Lankford, Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law: Emily L. & Dr. Myron Graham, Valdosta; one son and daughter-in-law: Stanley H. & Caroline Lankford, Homerville; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Leo & Mary Lankford and Lamar & Betty Lankford, all of Homerville; five grandchildren: Olivia Lankford, Thomas Lankford, Jack Lankford, Harper Graham and Walker Graham; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Lankford will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at eleven o’clock from the Homerville First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Arabia Church Cemetery.
