Manor, GA Mr. Elbert Franklin Cox, 81, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, in the Baptist Village, Waycross, GA, following a short illness. Mr. Cox was born Mar. 22, 1931, in Ware County to the late Edgar Peirce Cox and Louise Fitchett Cox. He was a retired mechanic and owner operator of Cox’s Service Station, attended the Zenith Baptist Church and was on the Board of Directors for Slash Pine for 21 years. Survivors are his wife: Edith “Chloe” Smith Cox, Manor; three sons and a daughter-in-law: Keith & Laura Cox, Craig Cox, and Kerry Cox all of Homerville; six sisters: Eveline Murray, Millwood, Eleanor Bennett, Emerson Park, Earnestine Morgan, Manor, Evoynne Hanna, Waycross, Elaine Lupo, Manor and Eula Mae Adams, Quitman; two brothers: Elmer W. Cox, Manor and Johnny Earl Cox, Columbus, GA: 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several other relatives. Services for Mr. Cox will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012, at eleven o’clock from the Zenith Baptist Church, Manor, GA. Internment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery, in Clinch County. Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Roundtree Funeral Home. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
