George Thomas Stanhope

Manor, GA Mr. George Thomas Stanhope, Jr., 77, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Stanhope was born June 6, 1930 in Bakerville, VT, to the late George Thomas Stanhope, Sr. and Elvira Fannie Corey Stanhope. He was a Baptist, was a retired Golf Course Mechanic and was the widower of Virginia Emmaroe Bonor Stanhope. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Stanhope. Survivors are six daughters: Jeanette Elwood, Hollywood, GA, Virginia Failing, Richford, VT, Linda Stanhope, Manor, GA, Deborah Tolley, Waycross, GA Tammy Basiley, Earnersborg, VT, Penny Minshew, Argyle, GA; five sons: George Stanhope, III, Green Cove Springs, FL, Robert Stanhope, Burch, VT, Donald Stanhope, Richford, VT, Alford Zenskie, East Burch, VT and David Stanhope, Bershier, VY; one brother: Donald Stanhope, Houston, NY; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives. Memorial services for Mr. Stanhope will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at eleven o’clock from the Open Door Baptist Church, in Waycross. Memorilization will be by cremation.
