Homerville, GA Mr. Charles Norman McAndrew, 73, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, in the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. McAndrew was born Dec. 15, 1933 in Bay, Arkansas, to the late John William Wesley McAndrew and Ester Johnson McAndrew. He was a retired U. S. Army Master Sergeant with 23 years of service, 18 years in the medical field, with service time in Vietnam. He had also worked for the Texas Department of Corrections in the infirmary. He was a member of the Hoboken Lodge #740 F & AM, Hoboken, GA; St. Joseph Valley Lodge # 4, F & AM, Niles MI; Charter & founding member of the Dentsville Masonic Lodge #398, Dentsville; SC; Royal Arch, St. Joseph Valley Chapter #2 RAM, Niles MI; Niles Council # 19 R & SM, Niles MI; Niles Commandery #12, Saladin Shriners, A.A. ONMS of Grand Rapids, MI; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend, IN; Knights of the York Cross of Honour; Western Michigan York Rite College #10, Grand Rapids, MI; Rock of Ages Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, MI, Grand Convention Order of High Priesthood, Priesthood, MI; Areme Chapter #101 Waycross, GA, the NCOA, Disabled American Veterans, Georgia #70. Survivors are his wife, Jolen Hungerford McAndrew, Homerville; one daughter & son-in-law: Charlene & Robert Benton, Waycross; one son: Charles McAndrew, Jr., Homerville: three sisters and brothers-in-law: Eunis Marie & Ed Holland of Watervliett, MI and Shirley & Jerry Martin all of Watervliet, MI and Corine Gail & David Howard, Hartford, MI; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Henry Lee & Shirley McAndrew, Laurence MI and Theo Eugene & Sharon McAndrew, Hartford, MI; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren and several other relatives A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at five o’clock in the Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel. Memorilization will be by cremation. The family requests no flowers and donations be made to the Shrines Children’s Hospital.
