Roy Wallace Silver

Rev. Roy Wallace Silver, 62, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at the Candler County Hospital after an extended illness. The native of Homerville, he attended the Belivers Non-Denominational Church in Bulloch County, and was the minister of music at Forest Heights Fellowship Church. Roy had served as pastor at the Harville Baptist Church and other churches in the Wilcox and Americus Counties. He enjoyed photography, football, karokee, camping, traveling and spending time with family. Predeceased by parents, Wallace Angus and Dorothy Strickland Silver also parents James Harvey and Pauline Vann Strickland. Survivors: wife: Ophelia (Mickey) Puente Silver, Brooklet; son: Wallace Angus Silver, Brooklet; brothers: Sage (Faye) Strickland, Fitzgerald and Bobby (JoAnn) Strickland, Rebecca; sisters: Lenora (Karl) Kerby, Mustang, OK and Doshia (J. D.) Mullis, Carrolton; sister-in-law: Susie Strickland and several other relatives. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 at eleven o'clock, in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home, Homerville, visitation will be 1 hour before the service.
