She was born May 1, 1933 in Homerville, GA to Willis & Adeline (Griffis) McClaine. Lora loved to sew & Ministering to others. She was a member of The New Vision Church of God in Homerville. She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Ernest Newsome, second husband, Benjamin E. Burkett & 1 brother William McClaine. Surviving are 2 sons: Timothy (Melinda) Newsome of Columbus, IN, & Marc (Joanne) Newsome of Middleburgh, NY; 1 daughter: Mrs. Steven (Lori) McSwain of Santa Claus, IN; 1 sister: Ruth Burris of Columbia, SC; 3 brothers: Robert (Imogene) McClaine of Homerville, GA, James Ivy (Quay) McClaine & Joseph MacArthur (Katie) McClaine both of Dupont, GA; 8 grandchildren and several other relatives. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM November 4th, 2011, in the New Vision Church of God, Homerville. Burial will be in Pine Forest Cemetery in Homerville, GA. A memorial service will be held in Heritage Hills Baptist Church, Lincoln City, IN. November 13th @ 4:00 PM CDT. The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Thursday, November 3rd at Roundtree Funeral Home. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements, with Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand. IN, in charge of arrangements there.
